Memorial Day 2011. Walked into 31's and was greeted by a bare chested man, who just happen to be my Captain. "Matthew Byrge," he said, followed by "Or should I say HEO Byrge."
Yep, acted as the HEO this past holiday. Was a pretty busy day, at least around meal times. Took three runs while trying to eat lunch, followed by an afternoon lull. Then once the evening hit and we were about to sit down and eat, again, we took three more runs. Really? It happens more often than not to Greg when he cooks. Seems like half the time he's the chef for the day, we do not get a chance to sit down and eat peacefully. Oh well, that's part of the job. Kind of funny though.
Got the call last night that I'd be going to Truck 13 today. Enthused by going up that way knowning that Engine 24 / Truck 13 is one of the engine houses I wouldn't mind working at once the next picking comes around. Anyway, got to work and was bumped over to the engine. Whatever.
